The first show in Milan after the long digital interval, Fendi’s SS22 made its statement through a hedonistic trip to Studio 54. The label was celebrating for more reasons than one: this show was Kim Jones’ first live venture since joining as artistic director in the middle of quarantine.

The sweaty, glittery nights were channelled through the lens of muse Antonio Lopez, the Puerto Rican fashion illustrator who partied with the likes of Grace Jones, Pat Cleveland, Tina Chow, Jessica Lange and Jerry Hall, and transformed them into otherworldly glamazons through his sensual drawings. Fashion, Art, Sex and Disco, the title of one of several monographs on his legacy, paints the picture. Printed full bleed, these artworks doused the show’s middle act in a dreamy wash of colours.
