During men’s fashion week in Paris, famed Dior Homme designer Kris Van Assche opened his first standalone boutique for his namesake line.

Located on 16 Rue Saint Roch and coinciding with the launch of online store krisvanassche.com, the 1940s façade of the building and the shop window are the only elements left untouched by the move-in.

Imagined by Ciguë, the go-to team behind many commissions ranging from Céline to Dover Street Market, famed for their minimalistic interiors and architecture, the 750-square-foot space offers ready-to-wear, accessories and shoe collections from the designer.

The result of collaboratory ideas between Assche and the architectural team is described by Ciguë as having “a great tension between the various elements. The result is contrasted and rigorous, we aimed to create an incisive and organised brutality.”

That means generous minimalism – black steel, pale wooden panelling and complimentary sleek lighting. In keeping with the aesthetic Kris Van Assche routinely manages to bestow on his collection, this is definitely a place to shop for those who appreciate fashion and interiors with an equally controlled elegance.
