For those of us who have ever purchased a pair of Christian Louboutin’s examples of footwear porn, there will be a mutually familiar dread of scuffing off those prized red soles.

Well fear not: the vibrant hub of East London’s Whitecross street has a new inhabitant and it’s set to be a magnet for anyone who is in need of some Louboutin TLC, courtesy of Paris’s 1st Arrondissement shoe caretaker and restoration specialist Minuit Moins 7.

Luxury living doesn’t stop after the initial splurge, there is a certain prestige to maintaining beautifully crafted designer goods, especially footwear. Should you want to restore your old soles, replace them all together with custom rubber ones specially developed for this collaboration, or simply add the odd stitch or heel tip, rehab is at number 163-165, an undetectable facelift for your shoes.

Marking the second shoe repair service in partnership with Christian Louboutin in Europe, after the first collaborative opening in Paris, 2009; the savoir faire of trained craftsmen makes the cobbler a safe pair of hands for luxury repairs whether they’re Louboutin or not.

Architect Brian O Tuama’s fantastically appointed design of the store is reminiscent of a traditional artisan’s workshop including Trompe l’oeil wallpaper, glazed drapers’ cabinets in African Hardwood and monochrome porcelain floor tiles.

The expansive window offering visitors a glance into the cobbler’s workspace, show’s they’ve nothing to hide. It’s also a smart vitrine for French brand – of course – Archiduchesse’s wonderful range of intensely coloured socks, worth checking out just in themselves.
