Poetry in Craftsmanship: Vincent Dubourg at Maison Berluti
By Thomas Davis | 15 October 2013

From the 15th to 19th of this month Berluti will be hosting hosting an exclusive in-store exhibition of Vincent Dubourg’s work at the Berluti Maison in London, in addition to Berluti’s existing permanent collection of art.

If you are yet to venture into the newly renovated store, which could easily be mistaken for a fine gentleman’s club, given its elegant interiors and Mayfair townhouse location, you now have extra incentive to visit. See our coverage of the Maison opening here.

After a successful previous collaboration, with the introduction of his “Napoléon à Trotinette” piece now on permanent display, the House is, er, housing Dubourg’s work during the London PAD (16th to 22nd October 2013), incorporating exclusive and unique pieces from the French designer.

The poetic works of Vincent Dubourg create a dialogue between man and nature, found objects and conventional furniture or sculptural forms, the conceptual and functional, and hand-made and mass production. Dubourg describes them himself as “a fusion of furniture, architecture and sculpture.”

Why not kick back after checking them out, enjoy a perfectly aged whisky in their Patina bar and deliberate on whether you should be getting measured now for those new Winter Chelsea boots? (You should. What’ve you been waiting for?).
