If you were to ask what traditional traveller families do for a living the list would be focused: roofing, building or labouring, scrap metal dealing, hawking or maybe horse breeding.

HERO catches a glimpse into the lives of this particular group of traveller boys from the confines of their East London manor.

Scrap dealers since the age of fourteen, working on cars and MOTs, often testing each other in competitions of bare knuckle fighting in between, they’re fond of the practicalities of their gear; steel-cap boots, cargo pants, sports caps. Johnny wore seven layers of t-shirts, it’s not easy working outdoors full time.

Oh and there’s Tiny the dog too. A Great Dane who got his name because “he was tiny when we got him.”
