A film by Danielle Levitt

Water Polo Team: University of California at Santa Barbara
Art | 9 December 2013

For HERO 10: California Future, Danielle Levitt, the NYC-based photographer whose work focuses on American youth culture, shot the University of California at Santa Barbara’s water polo team.

It’s eat, sleep, breathe water polo for this group of guys living but two blocks from college campus – right on Santa Barbara beach. Daily 5am wake up calls for training last around seven hours and seem to have a huge impact on group comradery. It’s plain to see this isn’t just an after college pastime but a testament to dedication for these young men who do almost everything together. All-day, everyday.

Catch Danielle’s film featuring the team here and see the photographic series in the magazine.
