The Saint Laurent Music Project, a seminal series of portraits of musicians shot by Hedi Slimane, takes a new turn today with the inclusion of video for the first time.

The film – Curtis Harding’s first song from his debut album set for release in March – sets the Music Project on a new trajectory: already seminal in its recording of some of the most important artists today, it now begins to shape the visual and presence of an emerging artist.

Harding, from Atlanta, is signed to Burger Records and joins an impressive cohort of legends already shot for the project, including Marilyn Manson, Daft Punk, Courtney Love, Chuck Berry and B.B. King.

Slimane’s Saint Laurent looks to the very core of creative being – the casting of each catwalk show is an exercise in discovery itself – it’s satisfyingly refreshing to see such an established house supporting, and creating a conduit for, new talent.

Shot in Los Angeles, January 2014, the film features Saint Laurent exclusive model Grace Hartzel.
