The photographic journeyman himself, intimately in person
Chris Steele-Perkins’ photographic studies of subcultures and social ills in cities worldwide have become something of an icon. From studies of the British Teddy Boy subculture of the 50s to 70s to honest imagery of cultural rituals in Africa, Japan and Afghanistan, the Magnum member’s extensive list of published books have always presented a refreshingly candid approach to documentary-style visuals.
So it’s rather a thrill that Claire de Rouen Books will be hosting a book signing by the man himself this evening, signing copies of Fuji (2002), England My England (2009), Northern Exposures (2007), The Teds (2002), Tokyo Love Hello (2007) and Echoes (2004).
Head down and get yourself a little slice of photographic history. Perhaps have a chat to the living legend himself too – why not?
Chris Steele-Perkins book signing at Claire de Rouen Books, Thursday 6th March from 6-8pm
