Camper have announced Romain Kremer as the brand’s new Creative Director.

It’s a sharp move sure to add fire to the footwear brand’s collection – the French designer is nothing if not ahead of the creative pack. Kremer (who created an Ibiza-fuelled playlist for us last summer) worked with Nicola Formichetti from AW11 to AW13 in a partnership that reignited Mugler menswear, while under his own eponymous line injecting men’s fashion with a heavy hit of techno and take no prisoners sex appeal.

Kremer has been designing capsule collections for the CamperTogether project since 2009, his first full collection under the new title set to hit stores on 1st September.

“I am very excited by this new challenge,” Kremer said in the press announcement. “I feel connected to the singular philosophy and values of the brand. The process of creativity remains as free as 40 years ago, and Camper manages to keep its authenticity. A unique laboratory that combines craftsmanship and high-tech skills, in the heart of Mallorca, where everything started.”

A concept of CamperLab stores in New York, Milan, Tokyo, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Berlin will also launch in September, presenting the collection in the concept’s entirety.
