Comme des Garçons Monster Window – Dover Street Market FW14 Tachiagari

It’s a big week for Dover Street Market: as well as the announcement of Loewe’s first global space under the the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, it also marks the beginning of the new season for the anti-department store with the latest edition of their biannual re-fit out.

The latest instalment of ‘Tachiagari’ (meaning ‘begin’ or ‘start’ in Japanese) sees the launch of a set of specially curated designer spaces and shop-in-shops including a dedicated set for the Raf Simons x Sterling Ruby collection.

There’s also the addition of a neat folio of new menswear brands including Matthew Miller, Calvin Klein, Walter Van Beirendonck and Margaret Howell, while the sneakers basement brings most-wanted kicks from the likes of Adidas Stan Smith x Raf Simons, Sacai x Vans and Puma x Ronnie Fieg DSM Specials.

The transformed fit-out defies all odds (you wouldn’t expect any less from DSM–  just see the Comme des Garçons Monster Window for proof) and is in itself well and truly worth a weekend wander. Keep cash in hand – just in case.
