Got a thing for crisp kicks? This one’s for you

Camper whites out at Selfridges

Camper have unveiled a new boutique in Selfridges, the space shooting forward as the largest offer of men’s footwear for the Spanish brand in the UK.

The fit-out was influenced heavily by Camper’s most iconic style, the ‘Pelotas’, the shoe literally plastering the walls of the space 200 times using lacquered PVC. If you’ve got a thing for crisp kicks, this is a (retail) whiteout with your name on it.

The boutique launch follows the recent appointment of Romain Kremer as Camper’s new Creative Director, the French designer’s first full collection for the brand to hit stores on 1st September. Until then, the new boutique houses the current collection which includes sixteen styles exclusively created for Selfridges. There’s everything from a sporty blue and black high top to a slick variation on the classic suede sneaker (first dibs) as well as the signature ‘Gosha’ runner, ‘Wabi’ slipper and the ‘Peu’ and ‘Himalayan’ styles.

It’s a big few months for the Camper retail realm is the launch of a series of CamperLab stores in New York, Milan, Tokyo, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Berlin. Launching in September, these stores will present Romain Kremer’s debut collection in the concept’s entirety.
