Ermenegildo Zegna Couture has taken Harrods intergalactic. The Italian brand has exclusively curated all 23 Harrods windows, inspired by the their astronomical FW14 film, City and Nature – Scientist Cut

Created in collaboration with Stefano Pilati, the film itself transports viewers to galaxies far, far away, depicting a real scientific path taken by astrophysicist Fiorella Terenzi and Professor Neil deGrasse Tyson. Together they formulated a ‘set of trajectories created in unique movement that fuse the primordial universe with the Milan CityLife Palace’. Sound mega? Apparently a few others think so too, the film having just been added to the academic material of the Florida International University’s Department of Astrophysics. Nice one.

The Harrods project beings all this down to ground level, all twenty three Brompton Road facing windows specially fitted with angled mirrors that create a sphere effect, aptly capturing the essence of the scientific path. Futuristically inviting, the Zegna curated facade is also fitted with a fully responsive interactive window, sensitive to shoppers’ body language. The FW14 film’s soundtrack filters onto the street via ‘whispering window technology’, sharing captured radio waves from space that have been converted to sound and transformed into music in a magical Tchaikovsky blend.

As well as showcasing its latest line, the residency also includes the unveiling of an exclusive collection of Ermenegildo Zegna Couture accessories – including Stefano Pilati’s first ‘house bag’.
