Harvey Nichols hits the street(wear) for FW14
By Alex James Taylor | Fashion | 13 October 2014

With the introduction of a staggering 22 new brands, Harvey Nichols has completely redefined its men’s contemporary department, located on the Lower Ground Floor of its Knightsbridge flagship.

The influx in street wear on the men’s fashion market is reflected in the retailer’s FW14 edit, selecting young brands including Pyer Moss, Fear of God and Japanese label MHRS – all of which are UK stockist exclusives. These sit comfortably alongside the existing offering of established street wear brands including Y3, A.P.C. and Norse Projects.

According to Harvey Nichols, the major injection of more casual stylings and brands is part of a farther reaching strategy that reflects the growing influence of street wear on contemporary men’s fashion.

And good news on the footwear front: the announcement also aligns with the launch of a series of pieces part of a collaboration between Harvey Nichols and creative collar powerhouse Been Trill, including a trio of leather sneakers by London shoe boss Mr Hare.

To mark the revamp throughout October the men’s floor will host a series of installations and pop-ups from VFiles Sport+, Monica Monroe, Trapstar Red Line and MHRS (top image), showcasing their new arrivals.
