For some time now, Shoreditch’s leafy Calvert Avenue in Shoreditch has held a proud place as one of the most desirable retail locations in the area – the latest addition being the opening of Oliver Spencer on the strip. 

“For me it was a question of finding a beautiful store on this street; one came up, so we jumped at the chance,” said designer Oliver Spencer. “We knew all along that the brand was suited to this neighbourhood, as there are plenty of our customers that live and work in that part of town.”

The new East End standalone retail space is the brand’s fourth and introduces a collaboration with like-minded furniture brand Another Country, via the store’s interior and soft furnishings. Crafted in Britain hand finished furniture, oak shelving, and stripped back brick walls feature throughout, resonating with the fashion brand’s AW14 collection – inspired by urban renewal.

“A like-minded British brand; they craft wood in such a beautiful way,” said Spencer. “The proportions matched perfectly with what we wanted to achieve within the stores’ interior.”
