Christmas can be a stressful and trying time, what with presents to buy, chaotic train journeys back home and meeting strange family members you never knew you had. What we all need is a Christmas playlist sure to set your spirits straight just in time for the big day.

Considering January marks London Collections: Men, Christmas cues mixed feelings for the majority of London’s menswear designers. Long, lazy meals and drunken family arguments are replaced with studio all nighters and lots of caffeine. So when we asked Bobby Abley to put together a festive playlist for us, we weren’t sure what to expect. Well, he rose to the challenge.

The designer is known for his sometimes twisted, always colourful streetwear riffs on Disney: last season it was all about Ariel and co, with an animated ode to Ursula, Sebastien (THOSE skateboards) et al, a colourful lift from the menacing depths of FW14 – where the designer interpreted your childhood’s nightmares into a heavy hitting riff on Maleficent and Mickey Mouse.

With his Christmas mix, Bobby has indulged his soft spot for childhood soundtracks, banging beats and power popstars ((M.I.A. has a habit of making her way into his show soundtracks). No matter what you’re up to this Christmas, pump this one out over your drink of choice and prepare for a sing-a-long.

Timber (Randy Heat Remix) by Pitbull feat. Kesha
“This song came out close to last Christmas and reminds me of my team and close friends working on AW14 in my studio,” says Bobby. “This is a nicer version of the original.”

Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses
“I’m into this.”

Jingle Bells: Disney Christmas Song
“I feel like a kid again when I hear this song.”

Flawless (Baddygirl) by M.I.A.
“I think this one will be played a lot at work over Christmas. It’s like a cortisone injection.”

Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee
“My favourite festive song. I’m not into the sad Christmas songs or the Mariah Carey ones. Basically just this one. And it reminds me of Home Alone (best Christmas movie ever)… it gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside you know?”

Two Tickets To Paradise by Eddie Money
“I first became obsessed with this song when the grand theft auto three soundtrack came out… I think it’s great for any time of year.”

Let It Go from Disney’s Frozen, performed by Idina Menzel
“Obvs this song.”

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (Beatles cover) by The Flaming Lips feat. Moby and Miley Cyrus
“I love the Beatles and weird noise.”

Baby It’s Cold Outside by Ceelo Green feat. Christina Aguilera
“You can’t have a playlist without Christina.”

Shut Up by Christina Aguilera
“And this is what I’m really thinking about most of the time. LOL.”
