As an authentic documentary style of photography LA based photographer Magdalena Wosinska’s work beautifully captures visceral moments of sun-kissed joie de vivre. The Polish born HERO contributor’s early work candidly documented the lives of her friends within the skate and metal music scenes. Both captivating and immersive, her personality and eye for the epic is translated in the images she produces – and all this combines in The Experience Vol. 1, Wosinska’s latest book release.

“It’s a series I have been shooting the last four years of self portrait nudes traveling the world,” she says of the project, which encompasses both the book and a parallel exhibition. “I don’t shoot landscapes and often I’m in the most beautiful place ever but I’m alone and I wanted to incorporate a human element in the images. I want to inspire people to feel or be free and travel, learn about new lands, cultures, experience silence…”

This Friday will see Wosinska posting up at Dilettante Gallery in LA, the evening launching the book and exhibition with a moving projection of images featured to be found in the tome. If you’re in town, this is one not to miss.
