Josh Homme is the latest musical protagonist to be shot by Hedi Slimane for the on-going Saint Laurent Music Project, joining the likes of Kim Gordon, Christopher Owens, Marilyn Manson, Beck and Courtney Love, recording today’s most emblematic musical icons as well as their pedigree, the late B.B. King, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis.

The Queens of the Stone Age frontman (and founding member of Kyuss, Them Crooked Vultures and Eagles of Death Metal) has cemented his name in the canon of hardened frontmen, born in Joshua Tree, CA, his credentials speak for themselves. As a pioneer of desert rock his swampland baritone is as distinctive as they come, a crooner born upon the dry West Coast terrain.

Shot at Homme’s Hollywood home (where he resides with his rockstar wife Brody Dalle) earlier this year the images show the flame haired singer at his smartest; clad in a black Saint Laurent suit, his trusty Fender Telecaster in hand and hanging out of his vintage Chevrolet Camaro.

The seminal series continues the blood-deep affinity between the fashion house and music culture that defines Slimane’s ethos and harks back to Yves Saint Laurent’s own sensibilities, after all it was Yves Saint Laurent who dressed Bianca Jagger in a white Le Smoking to marry Mick in St Tropez, 1971.
