Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci designs the costumes for Boléro de Ravel at the famed Paris Operá Garnier in his first solo project for a ballet.

Described as like ‘creating Haute Couture for stage,’ Tisci worked with the Opera’s atelier to realise his creations.

He continues ‘With many of the dancers wearing layered nude tulle embroidered with lace to depict skeletons which slowly shed as they dance, they become moving skeletons, strong and fragile’ reflecting his dark, romantic aesthetic.

Also collaborating on the project is artist Marina Abramovic who designed the set.

The Boléro de Ravel is now open at the Opéra Garnier, Paris.
