A ‘Noises of the Arctic’ soundtrack – or ‘Eskimo sex noises’ as the guy sat next to me suggested – filled the room as, yet again, Christopher Raeburn managed to skilfully blend style with function. Lightweight parkas crafted from German military sleeping bags, sheepskin Officers coats and big, boxy rucksacks all continued his military theme from previous seasons. His curiosity for developing original fabrics alongside a commitment to UK manufacturing both influenced the collection, layering rubberised wool jackets with locally sourced knits, unifying innovation and ethics. The polar bear featured as Raeburn’s animal mascot for the season, feeling right at home on scarves and lightweight knits.
