Artisanal heights

There was more background noise this season, cleaning away the block cut, top-heavy silhouettes we saw for FW14 in favour of a more lyrical narrative.

Frida Giannini’s captain transcended the archetypal (no silver beards here), duffel bags slung across the backs of boys in double breasted jackets and sailor striped trousers, cropped at the ankle to reveal the classic Gucci horsebit loafer. It couldn’t have been more at home.

Whites eased into to turquoise greens and engine reds, before the silhouette was loosened to reveal a softer, more bohemian side via wide knit vests, frayed denim and roped and beaded necklaces.

Jeans were paint splattered and paired with striped shirting that rendered a feeling somewhat artisanal. A subtle reminder of the bohemian’s presence even at the absolute height of luxury.
