Kris Van Assche uses fallen leaves strewn across the parquet floor against a backdrop of deep navy to set the scene for this collection. Entitled CONCRETE, the show marks the twenty-first runway for his eponymous label. Mixing technical sportswear with sophisticated suiting he presents his contemporary, trainer clad, and altogether effortless urban warrior in a characteristically concise collection including functional detailing layered with sartorial delights. Negating the need for bicycle clips by gathering trousers at the ankle and placing cycling jerseys under slick board room jackets, Van Assche’s man is prepared for the battlefield of the modern metropolis.

Geometric KVA monograms and exploded camouflage inserted throughout makes for some highly desirable pieces among the city-slicker high fashion flyers. Switching out briefcases for backpacks and reducing the number of overcoats in favour of fox fur technical parkas further pushes Van Assche’s hyper-aware future for menswear.
