Tailoring is an art, so its theatrical potential can never be understated.

That was the argument Z Zegna seemed to put forward yesterday, presenting a collection that was rebellious and overwhelmingly youthful in its representation of sixties style.

Pants were cropped above the ankle, shirts fitted and coats oversized. Shoulders rounded and royal blues blocked amid a heavy grey palette: a nod to the rebellion of the era’s social movement, it was a collection defined by political reflection.
