Following the news that Marine Serre will be a guest designer at the 106th edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence this June, it has just been revealed that legendary British designer Paul Smith will be opening the fair with his SS25 collection. The announcement marks a full-circle moment for Smith who was invited to show at Pitti in 1993 as one of the fair’s first-ever guest designers.

Paul Smith has been one of the biggest names in British fashion for over fifty years and has almost singlehandedly reinvigorated men’s tailoring. In a statement, Smith said, “I am very excited to be opening Pitti Uomo with the debut of my Spring/Summer 25 men’s collection on Tuesday 11th June. […] I think that it’s a wonderful moment that highlights some of the best menswear around in a very real way. I am looking forward to presenting my collection in a more personal setting, the return to Florence feels like just the right thing to do.”
